About the role
- Part-time, 30 hours per month paralegal role supporting Illinois commercial litigation matters for a Zirtual client
- Draft, review, and prepare pleadings, discovery requests/responses, motions, subpoenas, and other litigation documents
- Assist with case management, including organizing case files, maintaining document databases, and tracking deadlines
- Conduct legal research, investigate facts, and summarize findings for attorney review
- Manage discovery process, including document collection, review, production, and preparation of privilege logs
- Coordinate depositions, hearings, mediations, and trial preparation, including witness lists, exhibits, and trial binders
- Summarize depositions, medical records, contracts, and other relevant case materials
- Communicate with clients, courts, experts, and opposing counsel in a professional and timely manner
- Assist with e-filing in state and federal courts and ensure compliance with local rules and procedures
- Support attorneys with trial preparation and provide in-trial assistance as needed
- Maintain billing records, track time, and assist with case budgeting and expense management
- Act as main point of contact for assigned client(s), work independently, and coordinate with an Account Supervisor
- Maintain detailed and up-to-date client profiles, enter time daily, and follow Zirtual's best practices
Requirements
- Minimimum 3 years Paralegal experience handling commercial litigation
- Business hour availability
- Reliable home internet and computer
- Remote work experience preferred
- Illinois business/commercial litigation experience
