About the role

  • Closely work with the Company’s controller in the revenue recognition area, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance for the Company’s insurance platforms business.
  • Support the Company’s controller with review and analysis of new and renewal of customer contracts. Familiarity with the five-step ASC 606 framework.
  • Assist in preparing clear and well-supported revenue recognition memos and audit documentation to support company conclusions.
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to discuss revenue recognition analysis, monthly variances, and deal structures.
  • Lead month-end and quarter-end close activities for revenue and related accounts, including accounts receivable and deferred revenue.
  • Review account reconciliations, identify and resolve discrepancies, and communicate findings with the Controller and broader finance leadership.
  • Participate in deal reviews and provide guidance on revenue and billing implications.
  • Provide oversight and guidance to the billing team, including assisting with the investigation and resolution of billing discrepancies.
  • Support internal and external audits by delivering timely, accurate, and well-organized documentation.
  • Perform ad-hoc analyses to support management decision-making and business initiatives.
  • Develop, enhance, and maintain effective revenue accounting controls, processes, and documentation to support a growing organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • CPA and/or master’s degree in Accounting preferred.
  • 5–7 years of progressive experience in revenue recognition and billing; experience in technology or SaaS environments strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with the ASC 606 and revenue contracts review.
  • Experience with NetSuite preferred.
  • Advanced analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including advanced Excel capabilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environment while meeting critical deadlines.
  • A collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively with internal and external partners.
