About the role

  • Own end-to-end management of the People organization budget, including partnership with People leadership and Finance on monthly forecasting, variance analysis, and scenario planning for a $70M+ portfolio of investments.
  • Own quarterly year‑to‑go (YTG) forecast and reporting for the People budget, ensuring clear visibility into risks, opportunities, and tradeoffs for senior stakeholders.
  • Design and evolve our People “Book of Work” frameworks and processes, ensuring all projects and programs are prioritized, resourced, and sequenced to deliver intended outcomes.
  • Establish and maintain standards for governance, tools, and resource utilization across the People portfolio (e.g., intake, prioritization criteria, status reporting, and decision forums).
  • Own the People Portfolio of Projects in Asana, including end‑to‑end setup, taxonomy, templates, workflows, and ongoing governance.
  • Build, maintain, and continuously improve the People roadmap and related reporting in Asana, ensuring clear visibility into commitments, dependencies, and progress for leaders and stakeholders.
  • Project manage the process for People QBR preparation and roadmap reviews: define timelines, owners, inputs, templates, and follow‑through on decisions and actions.
  • Set the operating cadence, formats, and follow‑up mechanisms for portfolio and roadmap reviews (e.g., monthly portfolio reviews, quarterly deep dives), using recognized portfolio, program, and project management methods to ensure sound governance and effective resource utilization.
  • Design and lead the People team’s annual planning process in partnership with S&O partners, People leadership and Finance, including timelines, tools, and forums for decision‑making.
  • Own the capacity planning framework for the People organization as part of annual and ongoing planning—model workloads, resourcing scenarios, and tradeoffs across teams to ensure alignment with strategic priorities.
  • Integrate headcount and non‑headcount investment forecasts into the function’s strategic plan, ensuring budget and capacity are aligned with goals and objectives.
  • Build, govern, and continuously improve standard reporting dashboards for the People team in Asana (and related tools as needed), enabling leaders to track execution, capacity, and outcomes at a glance.
  • Lead the design and execution of complex, cross‑functional analyses across the People portfolio (e.g., spend vs. plan, program ROI, capacity vs. demand), and translate findings into actionable recommendations for senior stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Business Operations, or 8+ years experience in Business Operations, Strategy & Operations, FP&A, or related roles supporting senior leaders in a complex, cross‑functional environment.
  • Demonstrated ownership of large, complex budgets; experience managing and forecasting a portfolio of spend of at least ~$25M, including monthly/quarterly forecast cycles and variance analysis.
  • Proven track record in portfolio, program, and project management: setting operating cadences, defining success metrics, sequencing work, and driving cross‑functional execution to outcomes.
  • Deep, hands‑on expertise with Asana, including designing and maintaining portfolios, custom fields, templates, workflows, and dashboards for large teams or organizations.
  • Experience designing and running capacity planning processes and annual planning cycles (headcount and non‑HC), ideally within a People/HR or G&A function.
  • Strong strategic planning skills: ability to connect functional strategy to a multi‑quarter roadmap, translate strategy into a Book of Work, and manage year‑to‑go (YTG) investment decisions.
  • Advanced analytical and business data modeling skills; comfortable structuring ambiguous problems, building models, and turning data into clear insights, recommendations, and executive‑ready narratives.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and govern reporting frameworks and dashboards that provide ongoing visibility into initiatives, resources, spend, and outcomes (e.g., Asana dashboards plus Sheets/Slides).
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and experience aligning senior leaders across functions; able to influence without authority and drive decisions in ambiguous environments.
  • Experience leading complex change, including piloting and scaling new ways of working, tools, and processes (for example, migrating a Book of Work from spreadsheets into Asana).
