Controller

• Drive Strategic Financial Stewardship:
• Advise the Chief Operating Officer, CEO, and other senior leaders on all aspects of financial planning, budgeting, cash flow management, investment priorities, and long-term financial strategy.
• Work directly with the Finance & Audit Committee of the Board of Directors to communicate critical financial matters and provide clear, insightful analysis.
• Lead the development of financial models and conduct scenario analysis to support strategic decision-making for new initiatives, partnerships, and growth opportunities.
• Translate complex financial information into a compelling narrative of mission impact for internal and external stakeholders.
• Architect Scalable Financial Systems and Operations:
• Oversee all day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and banking relations, ensuring timeliness, accuracy, and efficiency.
• Lead the annual organizational budgeting and planning process, collaborating with department heads to align resource allocation with strategic priorities.
• Develop, implement, and maintain a robust system of internal controls, policies, and procedures to safeguard organizational assets and ensure financial integrity.
• Continuously evaluate and improve financial and operational processes, leveraging technology and automation to increase efficiency and scalability.
• Ensure Unimpeachable Integrity and Compliance:
• Lead the annual external audit process, serving as the primary point of contact for auditors and ensuring a timely and successful outcome.
• Oversee the preparation and timely filing of all required financial reports, including the annual IRS Form 990.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local financial regulations for nonprofit organizations, as well as grant and contract requirements.
• Develop and implement a comprehensive risk management framework to identify and mitigate financial and operational risks.
• Build and Lead a High-Impact Finance Team:
• Lead, mentor, and develop the finance and accounting team, fostering a culture of high performance, continuous improvement, and collaborative problem-solving.
• Promote ZERO’s core values of being humble, hungry, and smart within the team and across the organization.
• Establish and monitor team performance and development goals, conduct annual performance appraisals, and champion opportunities for professional growth.

Vice President, Finance and Controller

Events

• Provide customer service through fundraising hotline and email accounts to external constituents
• Create detailed supply lists and ordering schedules for events including t-shirts, signage, event materials, and awards
• Research and recommend vendors for event supplies, negotiating pricing and terms
• Manage event supply budgets and track expenses
• Track shipments and coordinate delivery schedules
• Ensure proper sponsor recognition on event deliverables (logos on websites, shirts, marketing materials)
• Work with Marketing to approve and quality control email content for peer-to-peer programs
• Manage Run/Walk outreach via Ringless Voicemail and texting platform to retain and steward participants
• Secure event insurance for peer-to-peer fundraising events as needed
• Work closely with the Field Development and Marketing teams to understand requirements and needs
• Report to Vice President, Peer-to-Peer Fundraising and support national Peer-to-Peer Fundraising Team

Coordinator, Peer-to-Peer Events Operations

Content Marketing Manager

• Write and edit copy for all ZERO marketing including email, website, social, fundraising, events, and printed materials. Develop and maintain messaging that aligns with ZERO’s voice and values. Collaborate with designers and Social Media Manager, as well as other contributors across the organization, to ensure copy is on-brand, on-strategy, and works seamlessly with visuals. Optimize written content for quality, clarity, and performance across channels (web, email, social, etc.). Ensure social media content aligns with brand voice and quality standards. Support development of messaging frameworks and copy templates for scalable use across departments. Champion brand voice and guidelines across the organization, acting as a resource and editor for cross-functional teams. Collaborate on brand and marketing campaigns, including overarching concepts, headlines, and taglines. Bring unique ideas for engaging content that resonates with diverse audiences. Utilize AI and other tools for proofing and to ensure high-quality content. Demonstrate project management skills to effectively coordinate multiple requests, even with limited resources. Manager, Copy and Content

Manager

Develop, implement, oversee, and evaluate initiatives that educate and support Veterans at risk of and living with prostate cancer.
Facilitate a national convening that brings together a broad coalition of organizations working with Veterans and prostate cancer stakeholders.
Conduct a national, multi-faceted needs assessment and landscape analysis.
Develop an action plan from landscape analysis findings to inform future program development.
Develop a framework for measuring impact and informing practice.
Work collaboratively across departments to ensure strong internal Veterans program communication and integration.
Serve as a subject matter expert for Veteran-related matters.
Provide oversight to ZERO’s volunteer Veterans Advisory Board.
Design, implement, and evaluate Veteran-focused programs and an online Veterans Prostate Cancer Resource Center.
Build relationships with Veteran organizations, community groups, and local businesses.
Organize events and workshops to promote ZERO’s programs and educate and engage Veterans.
Track program outcomes and prepare reports and presentations for stakeholders.
Advocate for Veterans' rights and benefits and work with Government Relations and Advocacy team.
Stay informed about legislation and policies affecting Veterans.
