Underwriter

• Document issuance and endorsement approval for all in-house programs.
• Provide support across all underwriting processes to help meet the team’s objectives.
• Adhere to underwriting standards and good practices to minimize risk.
• Oversee and manage the referral process to ensure work is being distributed correctly.
• Take ownership of the data integrity; ensure the information on file is accurate and up to date for in-house program policies.

Underwriting Assistant

General Counsel

• Lead all commercial legal matters, including sophisticated contract negotiation, drafting, and review (including broker agreements, vendor contracts, and client-facing documents).
• Provide critical legal oversight and guidance on major corporate procurement initiatives, ensuring vendor relationships comply with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate legal and regulatory risks across all business operations in alignment with Canadian brokerage, financial and insurance regulations.
• Help Zensurance navigate legal complexities and mitigate evolving legal risks amidst its business ambitions.
• Develop, implement, and manage a scalable and effective compliance management system tailored to the evolving regulatory landscape of the insurance brokerage sector in Ontario and Canada.
• Serve as the primary contact and expert liaison for all provincial (e.g., RIBO) and federal regulatory bodies, managing audits, inquiries, and license requirements.
• Establish and enforce internal compliance policies, including anti-money laundering (AML), privacy (PIPEDA, etc.), data security, and consumer protection regulations.
• Develop, facilitate and deliver mandatory compliance training programs to all employees to promote a culture of integrity and compliance.
• Drive purpose by setting the overarching strategic direction and vision for the function, balancing short and long-term priorities with Zensurance’s business objectives.
• Provide leadership, guidance, mentoring and coaching to the Zensurance employees, fostering a compliance-aware culture, as well as a culture of creativity, appropriate risk taking and experimentation across Zensurance.

• Lead, coach and develop Team Leads and individual contributors to ensure retention and customer service excellence.
• Deliver on team objectives by managing Team Leads and employees through regular 1:1, goal setting; planning and evaluating team activities.

Senior Manager – Accounts Retention

Full-stack Engineer

• Collaborate with project stakeholders and the development team to design, build, and implement scalable, user-friendly apps and libraries using Node, React, and Typescript.
• Collaborate with Product Management to examine, adjust, and break down roadmap items into epics and break down epics into discreet, actionable, appropriately sized tickets in the team’s backlog.
• Provide a technical perspective on organizational objectives within the team’s scope of activities. Analyze requirements, identify areas of concern, and provide recommendations based on your extensive technical background.
• Using POC models provided by Staff Developers, design and implement systems and infrastructure in accordance with the team’s vision and culture.
• Adhere to the organization’s security strategy using a security-first mindset.
• Discuss various strategies and architecture and highlight tradeoffs for potential solutions.
• Perform code reviews, ensuring that pull requests accurately reflect the acceptance criteria of the tickets they address.
• Use quality metrics to identify gaps in the testing strategy.
• Work with teams to recommend solutions that are in accordance with accepted testing frameworks.
• Manage and optimize the integration of third-party systems into our infrastructure while ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of these systems.
• Define and prioritize areas of technical debt and bugs, taking into consideration outcomes of the incident management process and addressing them with the team.
• Foster a culture of iterative deployability with awareness of cycle time and failure rates.
