Financial Planning and Analysis

• Supporting the Head of Finance in financial modeling and analysis and strategic decisions focusing on the economic viability of geothermal projects.
• Performing different financial analyses to guide key investment decisions on individual geothermal projects and across the portfolio including valuation, capital allocation, financing, and deal structure.
• Becoming intimately familiar with potential capital permutations, structure sensitivities, and value levers.
• Working closely with cross-functional experts in various groups such as land acquisition, development, exploration, etc.
• Working directly with the Head of Finance and senior management in the structuring, negotiation, and execution of project finance transactions, including debt and equity financings for infrastructure projects.

Senior Project Finance Analyst

Manager

• Manage staff, budgets, and workflows to identify, acquire and study leads to develop them to Prospect Stage.
• Work closely with R&D and Early Stage Drilling to create innovative workflows to quantify potential, prioritize areas of interest/sites and build conceptual models to hand off to Late Stage Exploration.
• Report to the COO to help coordinate personnel and manage projects.
• Build a culture of safety and accountability. Strengthen field safety practices, identify and mitigate key risks, and empower staff to take ownership of safety improvements.
• Lead and develop the Early Exploration team: Manage geologists and support staff through coaching, technical reviews, and performance feedback that drive professional growth and technical excellence.
• Oversee early-stage exploration projects to meet KPIs, schedule, and budget goals, ensuring progress toward drill-ready prospects.
• Recommend acquisitions, pre-drilling programs, and early-stage drilling opportunities based on data-driven evaluation and peer review.
• Improve organization, prioritization, and coordination across projects to streamline early-stage drilling objectives and decision-making.
• Ensure collection, analysis, and integration of geologic and geophysical data that strengthen conceptual models and resource assessments.
• Develop annual budgets, track spending, and report monthly progress to leadership with transparency and financial discipline.
• Develop and track metrics demonstrating goal achievement, efficiency gains, and exploration success rates.
• Maintain a strong safety record, operate vehicles responsibly, and travel regularly to support mapping and drilling campaigns (including occasional weekends/holidays).

Early Exploration Manager

Accountant

• Own the month-end close calendar, posting accurate journal entries and help with delivering consolidated financial statements.
• Prepare and reconcile all balance-sheet accounts (cash, fixed assets, prepaid, accruals, land leases, etc.)
• Manage the accounts payable inbox and daily cash matching in NetSuite.
• Support the controller in our year-end audit.
• Partner with FP&A to refine departmental budgets and provide variance analyses that drive cost control.
• Identify and automate repetitive workflows (e.g., invoice coding, bank rec matching, expense categorization) using AI-enabled tools, delivering measurable time savings and improved accuracy.
• Success means our leadership team always has clear, current financial insight and can confidently report to investors and regulators.

Staff Accountant

Recruitment

• Maintain and improve scorecards and structured interviews for priority roles; train interviewers and achieve >90% feedback form completion.
• Proactive outreach to qualified candidates for roles based on Hiring Managers’ blueprint of an ideal candidate, in addition to vetting inbounds.
• Maintain / Reduce time-to-accept by ~20% through streamlined stages, calibrated rubrics, and faster decision cycles.
• Support research function for salary bands for ≥80% of roles; introduce offer guardrails within internal salary bands
• Optimize ATS/HRIS configuration; create single source of truth for accepted offers as well as tracking reasons for decline, if applicable.

Talent Acquisition Lead

Communications

• The Head of Comms will design and execute our comms strategy, working closely with the co-founders and other team leads to craft and execute a multi-audience communications strategy that is timely, targeted, technical, and sometimes viral.
• We need someone to utilize modern social media channels, and to manage an external PR firm that connects our work with legacy mainstream and local media channels, depending on targeted audiences.
• In addition, we need someone who can take our beautiful field work imagery, including photos and videos of geologic data collection, drilling rigs, and an operating power plant, and create engaging and motivating content that inspires excitement internally and externally for Zanskar and for geothermal power.
• Success in six months will look like Zanskar being mentioned and/or included in most next-gen geothermal press, including in all press mentioning geothermal discovery, as well as significantly more engagement on its social media channels.
• It will also look like more inbounds, including more opportunities for public speaking engagements, as well as larger inbound applicant pools for any open positions.
• Longer-term success will be creating the measurement and reporting framework and metrics that capture the impact of our comms work in driving “share of mind” or success in key business objectives like recruiting, fundraising, and regulatory reform.

Head of Communications

Blockchain Engineer

• Lead - you will be a trusted leader who can both design and deliver a reliable distributed compute system that meets the ongoing needs of our scientific research teams.
• Learn - you will be entering a team with an existing system in place that needs to grow and scale. You will learn the domain from your peers as you identify how to migrate the system for scale and reliability.
• Collaborate - you won’t just be working with people like yourself. You’ll be working with some of the most brilliant geophysicists, geoscientists, seismologists and engineers tackling the challenges of geothermal discovery. Collaborating with your peers to solve hard problems is the name of the game.
• Teach - you will bring critical skills and experience that should be taught to others. You will have the opportunity (and education) to help others better understand your craft as a distributed systems engineer, while you learn from them their craft in modeling the earth’s subsurface.
