Design and prototype user interfaces to meet business needs
Conduct user research and usability testing to inform design decisions
Create visually compelling Power BI dashboards to support decision making
Create wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes using industry-standard tools such as Figma or Adobe XD
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including developers, product managers, and stakeholders
Work closely with data scientists, business analysts, and leadership to create tools that require minimal training
Integrate solutions into the Microsoft 365 ecosystem to align with platform capabilities
Develop and maintain design systems and style guides to ensure consistency across products
Optimize user workflows for defense and space systems applications
Translate complex technical requirements into intuitive user experiences
Participate in agile development processes and design reviews
Mentor junior designers and contribute to design team best practices
Requirements
U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain a security clearance
Bachelor’s degree required (master’s preferred) in graphic design, human-computer interaction (HCI), digital media, computer science, or a related field
4 years (or 2 years with Master’s) of experience in UX/UI design, with a focus on Microsoft 365 tools such as Power Apps, Power BI, and PowerPoint
Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar
Strong grasp of UX/UI principles: layout, hierarchy, typography, color theory, and accessibility
Experience designing within the Microsoft 365 ecosystem, in particular Power BI for data dashboards and PowerPoint for executive level presentations
Experience with responsive web design and mobile-first design approaches
Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript fundamentals
Experience conducting user research, usability testing, and data analysis
Strong portfolio demonstrating complex problem-solving and design thinking
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Ability to commute to San Antonio, TX (highly desirable)
Active security clearance (preferred)
Familiarity with front-end coding technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) preferred but not required
Prior experience supporting Military Health System or other federal healthcare environments and familiarity with government/DoD design standards and accessibility requirements (preferred)
Experience with rapid prototyping and iterative design processes (preferred)
Understanding of machine learning and AI-driven interfaces (preferred)
Advanced degree in Design, HCI, or related field (preferred)
