About the role

  • Lead the development and execution of enterprise-level safety strategies partnering with brand Presidents, Operations, Legal, HR, and Risk Management leaders to reduce injury frequency, severity, and preventable incidents.
  • Support enterprise-wide and brand-specific safety programs across KFC, Taco Bell, Pizza Hut, Habit Burger & Grill, and Saucy acting as strategic advisor and operational enabler.
  • Co-create brand-aligned safety training, hazard mitigation strategies, and SOPs in partnership with brand COOs, Safety/Risk management Directors, HR, Legal, and Operations Leaders.
  • Serve as the enterprise liaison to federal and state OSHA regulators and manage regulatory audit preparedness, compliance strategy, and resolution of citations.
  • Analyze injury, incident, and near-miss trends across 1,000+ equity restaurants and translate insights into actionable, data-driven recommendations; present quarterly safety and claims performance updates to senior leadership.
  • Partner with Operations, Legal, Risk Management, People & Culture, HR, Communications, and Franchise Operations to align and elevate safety efforts and lead knowledge-sharing initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Legal and Risk Management to investigate high-severity employee and customer incidents (~900+ annually), lead root cause analysis and corrective action planning.
  • Advise franchisee safety representatives on risk mitigation approaches and prepare/deliver briefings, dashboards, and strategic recommendations to senior leadership.

Requirements

  • Minimum 7 years in a senior safety, risk, or compliance role within QSR, hospitality, logistics, or multi-unit retail.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Risk Management, Industrial Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Certified or Associate Safety Professional (CSP or ASP) preferred.
  • Demonstrated success engaging with OSHA and other U.S. regulatory bodies, including audit response, citation management, and corrective action oversight.
  • Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders, drive cross-functional collaboration, and lead change across matrixed organizations.
  • Expertise in regulatory compliance, stakeholder engagement, and risk-based decision-making, ideally within QSR or multi-unit retail.
  • Data interpretation & performance reporting (Excel, Power BI, etc.) and claims systems, OSHA, & enterprise safety tools knowledge.
  • Executive communication, crisis management, strategic planning, and stakeholder engagement skills.
