💰 $55,000 - $62,000 per hour
About the role
- Coordinate and provide supervision of the Out of School Time (OST) program to ensure academic, social-emotional, and health/wellness growth
- Operate School Age Out of School Time program during school year and support Vacation Care Program and summer learning academy
- Lead a 5-week Summer Learning Academy and provide summer camp support
- Prioritize children’s safety and emotional well-being; model caring, responsible, honest, and respectful behavior
- Use positive and constructive methods of child and staff guidance and ensure staff do the same
- Ensure program development, maintenance, and quality including schedules, curriculum, supervision, staff meetings, professional development, parent meetings, and events
- Maintain personnel, payroll, file maintenance, and EEC paperwork; ensure compliance with state and YMCA requirements
- Maintain accurate attendance, children’s files, evaluations, and reporting to parents and regulatory agencies
- Assist community members in accessing resources (vouchers, food stamps, financial aid, Mass Health, etc.) and support community events
- Work with Enrollment Specialists to ensure up-to-date family accounts in accordance with EEC and YMCA policies
- Coordinate with stakeholders on program progression and participate in Youth Development working group
- Perform other duties as requested by supervisor or Youth Development Leadership Team
Requirements
- Site Director qualified by Department of Early Education and Care (EEC) and Department of Public Health (DPH) regulations
- 2nd Language preferred (Spanish and English)
- Knowledge of community services in Boston and experience with connecting families with resources
- Extensive experience working in urban communities and schools
- Knowledge of school-based programming and the goals of BPS
- Must be motivated, energetic, punctual, responsible, and exhibit a positive attitude
- Ability to lead, teach, and interact with parents, staff, teachers, children, and the school community
- Full commitment to the mission/philosophy of the designated BPS school and YMCA Program
- Knowledge of and ability to facilitate Early Education & Care (EEC) regulations
- Excitement and positive attitude toward working with children
- Dedication to the pursuit of education (for self and students)
- Experience working with diverse population
