About the role
- Perform day to day accounting duties primarily in accounts payable, cash management, monthly closes, regulatory reporting and other duties as assigned
- Cash management: transferring cash between entities, processing disbursements across multiple bank accounts and currencies, performing bank reconciliations
- General ledger: preparing and posting journal entries and assisting with general ledger maintenance
- Assist with monthly close activities: preparing and posting journal entries and preparing balance sheet reconciliations
- Assist with financial and regulatory audits
- Understand and apply regulatory and accounting rules to internal processes and procedures
- Interact directly with company personnel and management as needed
- Assist on projects and other ad hoc assignments as needed
- Collaborate with other team members to help solve problems and make process improvements/automation
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting (preferred GPA of 3.5 or higher)
- 1 - 3 years of accounting experience
- Public accounting (Big 4) experience a plus
- Proficient in MS Office software, with advanced knowledge of Excel (VBA/Macros a plus)
- Basic programming skills and/or SQL knowledge a plus
- CPA a plus
- Knowledge of Great Plains/Management Reporter/Workplace/Papersave/SQL, Trading operations, Financial statements’ audits (are a plus)
- Technologically focused with a drive toward efficiency, process improvement and automation
- Highly motivated individual who can work efficiently and prioritize appropriately in a highly demanding environment
- Manage high-pressure situations professionally, calmly and with urgency
- Sound understanding of GAAP
- Displays a passion for the field of accounting
- Proactive and self-motivated to work independently to achieve both individual and team goals
