Salary

About the role
- We are growing our Sustainability Advisory team and are seeking a technically minded Consultant to support our expanding pipeline of Whole Life Carbon Assessments (WLCA) and wider decarbonisation work across our commercial property portfolio.
- You’ll work closely with our WLCA Lead and the wider Sustainability team to produce high quality assessments that directly shape client design decisions.
- Your work will span embodied carbon, operational energy inputs, benchmarking, and whole life modelling.
- Delivering robust technical analysis that strengthens the accuracy, credibility, and impact of our WLCA outputs and decarbonisation recommendations.
- Supporting project teams with reliable data, well structured models, and clear documentation that enables confident decision making throughout design stages.
- Contributing to a culture of quality, precision, and continuous improvement across our technical sustainability workflows.
- Extracting material quantities and specifications from drawings, cost plans, and schedules
- Sourcing and validating Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs)
- Building, maintaining, and checking WLCA model inputs using tools such as One Click LCA or Excel
- Supporting the delivery of baseline, concept, and developed-design WLCA outputs
- Preparing charts, summaries, visualisations, and recommendations for client-facing reports
- Assisting with energy modelling inputs, benchmarking, target-setting, and Net Zero pathway analysis
Requirements
- A grounding in the built environment whether through architecture, engineering, QS, sustainability, or a related discipline and the ability to interpret drawings, schedules, and specifications.
- Strong analytical skills, excellent Excel capability, and confidence handling structured datasets, along with a detail-driven approach to technical problem-solving.
- Exposure to WLCA, embodied carbon, material take-offs, or environmental modelling, and the motivation to deepen your expertise in these areas.
- Ideally, familiarity with embodied-carbon tools (e.g., One Click LCA, eTool), basic building physics or energy-modelling concepts, and experience within design-stage workflows or certification schemes such as BREEAM.
- Additional beneficial experience includes cost planning, quantity surveying, or knowledge of UK Net Zero Carbon standards but these are not essential.
- An understanding that this role is not corporate ESG reporting, policy, comms, or a generalist sustainability graduate pathway. This is a technical, delivery-focused role for someone committed to low-carbon building performance.
Benefits
- Hybrid working to offer you a great work life balance, with a minimum of three days in the office.
- Core working hours to allow for added flexibility and helps ease your commute to the office.
- Study support
- Discretionary annual bonus and salary reviews.
- Healthcare, life insurance & wellness programme.
- Long service additional holidays, your birthday off and an extra day between Christmas and New Year.
- Lifestyle benefits to suit you: gym membership, cycle to work, buy and sell holiday to name just a few.
- Social events throughout the year including a firm wide Christmas party!
- Generous referral bonus.
