Medical Biller

• Work rejections and denials as they come in and escalate denial or rejection trends
• Verify patient eligibility and benefits, including coordination of benefits
• Identify and resolve claims processing issues, including pre-submission errors
• Generate appeals or reprocess claims as needed
• Communicate with patients, physicians, management, staff, and third-party representatives
• Contact insurance payers for eligibility, claims resolution, and authorization requests
• Submit medical records to insurance when needed
• Review and audit patient accounts for accuracy
• Maintain compliance with professional standards, company policies, and federal, state, and HIPAA regulations
• Manage a high volume of claims, calls, chats, and tasks while meeting productivity and quality standards
• Respond promptly to calls, chats, and voicemails during business hours
• Ensure timely completion of daily tasks
• Perform other duties as assigned

RCM Specialist, Medical Biller

General

• Reconcile remittances with deposits for posting
• Review stale claims and obtain remittances for posting or work claims accordingly
• Escalate payers lacking ERA enrollment to the Manager
• Assist the RCM Manager with reconciliation of missing monies
• Gather, sort, and distribute incoming mail to appropriate departments
• Monitor lockbox for EOBs, payments, and correspondence
• Address billing correspondence, including submission of medical records for pre-payment review
• Maintain office cleanliness
• Liaise with landlord, utility representatives, and cleaning team as needed
• Address payer representatives or regulators and direct them to appropriate resources for documentation or record requests
• Communicate with physicians, management, employees, and third-party representatives
• Adhere to professional standards, company policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements, and HIPAA standards
• Perform all other duties as assigned
