About the role
- Manage charge capture team and support unit
- Communicate missing or incomplete clinical documentation and charge entry errors
- Deliver direction to documentation of policies and procedures regarding charge capture
- Conduct meetings to evaluate department charge processes
- Coordinate with administration and technology projects impacting charge entry
- Provide data for management and support of critical decisions
- Supervise meetings for educating clinical revenue generating staff regarding compliance and coding
- Synchronize CDM data monthly and provide ad-hoc reports
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in healthcare related field
- 5 years experience in medical coding/ Chargemaster in a healthcare environment
- Experience with inpatient and outpatient billing requirements (UB-04)
- Knowledge of other government and third party payer reimbursement methodology
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, planning and evaluation skills
- Ability to utilize effective, appropriate and diplomatic oral and written communication skills
- Registered Nurse - RN or Coding Credentialing from AHIMA or AAPC
