About the role

  • Provide executive leadership and strategic direction for all aspects of student financial compliance, funding policies, and success initiatives
  • Interpret and integrate Title IV and other federal/state regulations into institutional policies and practices
  • Oversee internal quality control measures and lead QA reviews for compliance enhancements and process improvements
  • Develop and expand state grant programs, scholarship strategies, and innovative funding opportunities to improve student affordability and access
  • Serve as primary liaison with regulatory agencies, including managing communications with the Department of Education (E-App updates, employee requests, complaint investigations)
  • Develop robust partnerships with Legal, Compliance, and Operational leaders and collaborate with Enrollment, Student Operations, and Marketing
  • Create and execute a quality assurance process and reporting system and establish/track KPIs for all areas of responsibility
  • Develop and manage university scholarship programs, including donor-funded scholarships and institutional awards
  • Develop and implement strategies to increase financial literacy among students and families
  • Represent the university at professional conferences and events and serve on university leadership committees
  • Lead, coach, hire, and evaluate direct reports in Student Services Quality Assurance and Student Scholarships teams
  • Other duties as assigned by EVP, Student Success Services and CFO

Requirements

  • Master’s degree required, preferably in higher education administration, business, or a related field
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in student finance at a college or university
  • At least eight (8) years leadership experience preferred
  • Strong network within regulatory agencies
  • Comprehensive knowledge of federal and state student financial success regulations and compliance requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement policies and procedures related to student financial success
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with other university departments and stakeholders
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Excellent leadership and management skills, with ability to motivate and develop staff
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to use data to inform decision-making
  • Experience leading quality assurance reviews and process improvement initiatives
  • Experience managing scholarship programs and donor-funded scholarships
