Participate in and manage the daily operations and maintenance of three (3) Water and two (2) Wastewater Treatment Facilities
Schedule staff and give appropriate direction to staff in the operation and maintenance of the plant assigned
Budgeting, purchasing, completing, and submitting the Discharge Monitoring Reports (DMR's) and Monthly Operation Reports (MOR’s) to the Florida Department of Environmental Projection (FDEP)
Utilize the Hach Wims system to create plant specific DMR's, MOR’s and any other required regulatory reporting for submission as needed
Maintain records and utilize the work management system
Develop the capital budget and execute capital projects
Oversee payroll and ensure proper facility coverage
Employee evaluations, training and mentoring operators to perform at their full potential
Monitor water/wastewater treatment plant processes and equipment both manually and via SCADA automation, adjusting as necessary
Perform water quality sampling, testing, and analysis to determine compliance with federal, state, and EPA standards
Operate, maintain, control, and perform routine repair of plant equipment, including preventive maintenance duties
Recognize deviations or irregularities in the plant operation and adjust the treatment plant process and equipment to maintain required quality standards
Collaborate with maintenance staff, contractors, consultants and engineering firms to ensure effective system operation and optimization
Assist Federal, State and local regulators during plant compliance inspections
Requirements
High School Degree or Equivalent
Valid Florida Driver's License required
Must possess at least a valid State of Florida Class "A" Drinking Water and Wastewater Treatment Plant Operators Class “A” license
Minimum seven (7) (5) years of progressively responsible experience in Water and Wastewater Plant operations with management experience
Successful candidates will be required to complete a background check, pre-placement physical and drug screen before employment
Being able to make sound decisions in process control and follow instructions, as well as following safety procedures
Availability for standby duty and the ability to be “on-call,” working evenings, weekends and holidays as needed; response to emergency events and alarm call-outs required
Experience with completing and submitting Discharge Monitoring Reports (DMR's) and Monthly Operation Reports (MOR’s) to the Florida Department of Environmental Projection (FDEP) and utilizing the Hach Wims system
Experience scheduling staff, budgeting, purchasing, overseeing payroll, and using work management systems
