About the role
- Oversee content strategy and acquisition and manage content partnerships at the portfolio level in collaboration with Lead Product Managers
- Lead acquisitions editors to ensure understanding of individual markets and market trends, including market sizing and list plan strategy
- Develop and execute title-level positioning, competitive landscape analyses, content acquisition/creation plans, author and SME relationship management, negotiation, and succession planning
- Lead participation in content and go-to-market strategies for partnership initiatives, including society relationships, product review, and Advisory Board programs
- Drive collaboration with sales, marketing, product, operations, and finance to execute priority initiatives aligned with business unit strategy
- Develop deep understanding of Health Professions Education customers, seasonality, business models, sales/distribution channels, and customer needs
- Analyze market trends and monitor competitor activity
- Guide financial planning for budget and 3-year strategic planning, franchise forecasting, and sales projections in collaboration with Lead Product Managers
- Direct strategic list planning, optimize revision cycles, and identify priority content acquisition goals to ensure stable revenue growth

Requirements
- College degree (BA/BS) required
- 2+ years experience in people or team management
- 5+ years experience in business development, product management and/or acquisitions with digital higher education products (desirable)
- Ability to provide clear vision and direction to a team
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills
- Attention to detail and deadlines with focus on delivery and execution with a sense of urgency
- Ability to analyze P&L statements and list plans, suggesting remediation at the individual product as well as portfolio level
- Ability to forecast and manage departmental budget
- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Ability to develop understanding of complex products
- Ability and willingness to travel to meet business goals and objectives (20-30% travel required)
