About the role

  • Serve as a consultant to management on human resources–related business issues and act as both an employee champion and change agent
  • Assess and anticipate human resources needs for assigned business units and proactively communicate those needs with Human Resources Team and leadership
  • Identify and develop integrated HR solutions supporting company objectives and specific needs of assigned business units
  • Build partnerships within Human Resources and deliver valued services to management and employees
  • Support business units in Edina, Minnesota, and Anchorage, Alaska; travel to Anchorage at least quarterly
  • Work in-office for the first 90 days, with opportunity to transition to a hybrid schedule afterward
  • Provide workforce planning, organizational design, talent strategy, compliance, and employee relations guidance

Requirements

  • Three-plus years of experience working as a Human Resources Business Partner; five-plus years of experience for senior level position
  • Proven experience influencing and coaching senior leaders
  • Advanced knowledge of employment laws, compliance, and human resources best practices
  • Expertise in workforce planning, organizational design, and talent strategies
  • Strong ability to identify human resources risks and proactively develop mitigation strategies
  • Experience anticipating future talent needs and developing long-term talent strategies
  • Superior communication and emotional intelligence; remains calm and balanced in high-stress situations
  • Expert-level conflict management skills; proactively identifies solutions and uses influence effectively to achieve goals
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); moderate to expert-level Excel skills
  • Experience using HRIS systems—Workday preferred
  • Human resources certification (preferred)
  • Experience with compensation best practices: market pricing, job analysis, internal equity reviews, and incentive pay structure administration (preferred)
  • Proficiency in human resources analytics and leveraging data for decision-making (preferred)
  • Strong project management skills, ability to prioritize and meet deadlines (preferred)
