About the role
- Serve as a consultant to management on human resources–related business issues and act as both an employee champion and change agent.
- Assess and anticipate human resources needs for assigned business units and proactively communicate those needs with members of the Human Resources Team and leadership to identify and develop integrated solutions.
- Deliver valued services to management and employees that support company objectives while meeting the specific needs of assigned business units.
- Build partnerships within Human Resources and across business units to support workforce planning, organizational design, and talent strategies.
- Identify human resources risks and proactively develop mitigation strategies.
- Support business units in Edina, Minnesota and Anchorage, Alaska and travel to Anchorage at least quarterly.
- Work in-office for the first 90 days with the opportunity to transition to a hybrid schedule afterward.
Requirements
- Three-plus years of experience working as a Human Resources Business Partner; five-plus years of experience for senior level position.
- Proven experience influencing and coaching senior leaders.
- Advanced knowledge of employment laws, compliance, and human resources best practices.
- Expertise in workforce planning, organizational design, and talent strategies.
- Strong ability to identify human resources risks and proactively develop mitigation strategies.
- Experience anticipating future talent needs and developing long-term talent strategies.
- Superior communication and emotional intelligence; remains calm and balanced in high-stress situations.
- Expert-level conflict management skills; proactively identifies solutions and uses influence effectively to achieve goals.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); moderate to expert-level Excel skills.
- Experience using HRIS systems—Workday preferred.
- Human resources certification (preferred).
- Experience with compensation best practices specific to market pricing, job analysis, internal equity reviews, and incentive pay structure administration (preferred).
- Proficiency in human resources analytics and leveraging data for decision-making (preferred).
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to effectively prioritize, multitask, leverage support resources, and establish and meet deadlines (preferred).
- Willingness and ability to travel to Anchorage, Alaska at least quarterly.
- Willingness to work in-office for the first 90 days and then transition to a hybrid schedule.
