About the role

  • Serve as a consultant to management on human resources–related business issues and act as both an employee champion and change agent.
  • Assess and anticipate human resources needs for assigned business units and proactively communicate those needs with members of the Human Resources Team and leadership to identify and develop integrated solutions.
  • Deliver valued services to management and employees that support company objectives while meeting the specific needs of assigned business units.
  • Build partnerships within Human Resources and across business units to support workforce planning, organizational design, and talent strategies.
  • Identify human resources risks and proactively develop mitigation strategies.
  • Support business units in Edina, Minnesota and Anchorage, Alaska and travel to Anchorage at least quarterly.
  • Work in-office for the first 90 days with the opportunity to transition to a hybrid schedule afterward.

Requirements

  • Three-plus years of experience working as a Human Resources Business Partner; five-plus years of experience for senior level position.
  • Proven experience influencing and coaching senior leaders.
  • Advanced knowledge of employment laws, compliance, and human resources best practices.
  • Expertise in workforce planning, organizational design, and talent strategies.
  • Strong ability to identify human resources risks and proactively develop mitigation strategies.
  • Experience anticipating future talent needs and developing long-term talent strategies.
  • Superior communication and emotional intelligence; remains calm and balanced in high-stress situations.
  • Expert-level conflict management skills; proactively identifies solutions and uses influence effectively to achieve goals.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); moderate to expert-level Excel skills.
  • Experience using HRIS systems—Workday preferred.
  • Human resources certification (preferred).
  • Experience with compensation best practices specific to market pricing, job analysis, internal equity reviews, and incentive pay structure administration (preferred).
  • Proficiency in human resources analytics and leveraging data for decision-making (preferred).
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to effectively prioritize, multitask, leverage support resources, and establish and meet deadlines (preferred).
  • Willingness and ability to travel to Anchorage, Alaska at least quarterly.
  • Willingness to work in-office for the first 90 days and then transition to a hybrid schedule.
