About the role
- Design, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure using multiple cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, etc.)
- Collaborate with development teams to create and implement cloud solutions and best practices
- Ensure system availability, reliability, and scalability
- Monitor and manage billing, cost optimization, and capacity planning
- Conduct performance tuning / right-sizing, backup/recovery, and disaster recovery procedures
- Implement and maintain cloud security controls including firewalls, IAM roles, and secret management
- Automate routine tasks with scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Infrastructure as Code solutions such as Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM
- Assist in the migration of traditional applications to a cloud-based environment
- Create and maintain documentation for cloud architectures, procedures, and policies
- Ensure cloud environments have proper observability
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues as they arise
- Stay up to date on technical trends related to cloud infrastructure management and operation
- Coach, train, and guide junior team members as needed
Requirements
- Minimum 5-7 years of experience in cloud systems engineering or related role
- Strong experience working with Azure and related services
- Experience working with AWS and GCP a plus
- Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker
- Experience in using Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform
- Experience working in Github
- Strong knowledge of cloud networking, storage, and compute components
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong scripting skills in Python, PowerShell, or another scripting language
- Cloud related certifications are a plus
- Server administration (Windows, Apache, Linux/Unix, or other)
