About the role

  • Participate in soliciting residential mortgages from various sources
  • Produce high quality loans which are compliant and provide excellent customer service
  • Build relationships with realtors, builders, financial professionals, bank stores, past customers, and other non-traditional sources
  • Develop and maintain visibility for Wells Fargo Home Mortgage in the marketplace and stay informed of mortgage industry trends
  • Present recommendations for producing loans and exercise independent judgment while adhering to policies, procedures, and compliance requirements
  • Understand real estate appraisals, title reports, and real estate transactions
  • Receive customer applications, quote the rate and points, complete registration lock-in follow-up, and analyze and offer mortgage loan products
  • Review and analyze low to moderately complex financial and credit data and match customer needs with appropriate loan program and level of risk
  • Inform prospective and existing customers of Wells Fargo Home Mortgage programs, rates, policies, underwriting requirements, and loan procedures
  • Pursue Wells Fargo training offerings to increase knowledge of company products, policies and procedures, and underwriting requirements

Requirements

  • 2+ years of Mortgage Retail Sales experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of work experience, training, military experience, education
  • SAFE registration at the time of employment (Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System NMLS MU4R registration)
  • Meet Loan Originator (LO) requirements under Regulation Z and Consumer Financial Protection Bureau qualification requirements
  • Acceptable background investigation results and ongoing regulatory screening
  • Ability to lift 20+ pounds
  • Reliable transportation
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays as needed or scheduled
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills
  • Documented retail residential mortgage fundings over the past 12 months referred primarily from established, local, external sources (desired)
