About the role
- Architect firmware for the charger and digital power distribution controller
- Design and implement real‑time control algorithms for charging, power regulation, and safety protection
- Develop firmware features including state of charge estimation, thermal regulation, and fault diagnostics
- Implement communication protocols (e.g. CAN, LIN, SPI, I2C) for battery monitoring and control
- Collaborate with electrical engineers and Battery Management System (BMS) developers for hardware‑software integration
- Support firmware testing, validation, and debugging on prototype and production hardware
- Contribute to higher‑level robot software safety features
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
- 2+ years of experience in embedded firmware development, with focus on battery chargers, BMS, or power electronics
- Proficiency in embedded C/C++ programming
- Understanding of battery technologies (e.g. Li‑ion, Li‑Polymer) and battery management principles
- Experience with communication protocols such as CAN, LIN, SPI, I2C, and/or Modbus
- Strong analytical skills and ability to troubleshoot complex software and hardware interactions
- Familiarity with functional safety standards relevant to chargers and batteries in consumer hardware (preferred)
- Prior experience with PCB design (preferred)
- Experience designing or working on digital power distribution controllers (preferred)
