About the role
- Travel through assigned territory to call on regular and prospective customers to solicit orders and negotiate sales
- Perform Inside and Outside sales activities to acquire new customers as well as project-based work for current customers
- Build and maintain customer relationships and be point of contact for current and potential customers
- Demonstrate products to Engineers, Contractors and Wholesalers by way of samples, catalogues and PDH Approved Lunch and Learns
- Develop relationships with Facility Managers, Building & Business Owners, and other buyers using a consultative sales approach
- Prepare marketing and sales reports and implement marketing projects
- Attend trade shows and industry events as required to represent our products in the marketplace
- Comfortable facilitating or leading training sessions for groups of 15 to 20 attendees.
- Assume responsibility for other projects and duties as assigned by Sr. Manager NY Sales or Company management.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business, and/or Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or 4 plus years of equivalent work experience.
- Proven ability to develop new business and close sales and proven business development skills and demeanor.
- Experience working in the Plumbing and HVAC Industry
- Technically oriented individual.
- Must possess strong computer software skills (familiarity with social media, email, CRM, spreadsheets, and document programs).
- Customer-centric mindset, able to translate customer issues/needs into solutions.
- Ability to work under pressure, multi-task, prioritize and close multiple sales leads.
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to establish mutually beneficial commitments and expectations with customers, internally and externally.
- Highly motivated, self-starter who can handle workload and take initiative.
