💰 $125,000 - $135,000 per year

About the role

  • Review, draft, and negotiate a high volume of contracts for Wasserman Creators clients, including sponsorship/endorsement, appearance, content, production, literary, and other types of deals
  • Conduct research and analysis of specific legal questions and prepare opinions setting forth research results, recommendations, and conclusions in a variety of legal areas
  • Anticipate legal and contract/deal issues, and design and execute strategies to remediate risk to Wasserman and its clients
  • Keep current on legislative issues, statutes, decisions, and other important legal developments that may affect Wasserman and/or its clients’ interests
  • Support on a range of intellectual property projects, including Wasserman-owned IP as well as IP controlled by Wasserman clients
  • Assist with dispute resolution and litigation oversight
  • Manage various client issues (e.g., immigration, employment/contractor, family law, real estate, and business entities)
  • Ensure compliance with Wasserman’s corporate policies and procedures
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • JD degree, admitted to practice law in the state in which located (must have evidence of good standing)
  • 2-3 years of law firm or in-house experience, preferably in a transactional role with some degree of creator and/or entertainment experience
  • Ability to effectively explain legal issues in laymen’s terms to internal stakeholders and Wasserman clients
  • Ability to work collaboratively with individuals at all levels, including junior team members as well as senior and executive-level staff
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable while maintaining professionalism in a fast-past environment, including meeting tight deadlines on the fly
  • High emotional intelligence and demonstrated ability to build strong interpersonal relationships
  • Self-starter who can work independently, but self-aware and willing to receive and implement feedback
  • Demonstrated passion for the creators industry.
