About the role
- Lead global corporate tax strategy and policy development, ensuring alignment with business goals and regulatory requirements
- Oversee tax compliance and reporting across all jurisdictions, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and audit readiness
- Manage relationships with external advisors, auditors, and tax authorities
- Monitor legislative changes and assess business impact; partner with legal and government affairs to advocate for favorable tax policy
- Partner with Treasury and Corporate Development to design and execute tax-efficient structures for financing, repatriation, and acquisitions
- Lead tax due diligence, structuring, and integration for M&A transactions; advise on entity rationalization and IP migration
- Manage and mentor regional tax leaders across EMEA, LATAM, APAC, and North America; ensure consistent application of global tax policies
- Navigate international tax frameworks including OECD Pillar One & Two, BEPS, and digital services taxes
- Address tax complexities related to streaming revenue models, content production, and global licensing
- Mitigate risks associated with regulatory changes, tax audits, and cross-border operations; lead proactive planning for high-risk jurisdictions
- Serve as strategic advisor to the CFO and executive leadership on tax matters; represent Warner Bros. Discovery externally
- Build and mentor a diverse, globally distributed tax team; champion talent development, succession planning, and continuous process improvement
- Report directly to the CFO and drive operational excellence across tax pillars including Corporate Tax, Treasury & M&A Tax Planning, Transfer Pricing, SALT, VAT/Indirect Tax, and Regional Tax Teams
Requirements
- 15+ years of progressive tax leadership experience in global, publicly traded companies
- Deep expertise in corporate tax, international tax planning, transfer pricing, and indirect tax
- Proven track record of leading complex tax operations and strategic initiatives
- Strong understanding of media, entertainment, and digital streaming business models
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s, JD, or LLM preferred)
- CPA or equivalent international tax certification
- Problem-Solving skills, ability to solve highly complex problems and mitigate risks early
- High standards for quality and strong professional ethics
- Strategic thinking and ability to communicate effectively to stakeholders at all levels
- Ability to influence & motivate teams and assess stakeholder sentiment
- Strong financial acumen and understanding of historical and forecasted financial performance

- Openness to working in co-source arrangement with Big 4 firms
- Experience managing tax functions in a matrixed, multinational organization
- Prior leadership of tax teams supporting both studio and streaming businesses

- Ability to navigate complex regulatory environments and drive proactive compliance
