About the role
- Receive, review, and verify invoices and expense reports for accuracy and completeness
- Match invoices to purchase orders and supporting documentation
- Facilitate vendor payments, including verifying federal ID numbers and resolving discrepancies
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve outstanding issues in a timely manner
- Ensure proper coding and entry of invoices into the accounting system
- Prepare and process payment runs, including check disbursements
- Maintain vendor files and ensure 1099 compliance
- Assist with monthly reconciliations, accounting records, and financial reporting
- Identify cost-saving opportunities such as vendor discounts
- Communicate effectively with vendors and internal departments to resolve payment issues
- Perform analysis and other related duties as assigned
Requirements
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or related field preferred
- Minimum of two (2) years of accounts payable or related accounting experience
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate and confidential records
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; ability to learn accounting software systems
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to read and interpret detailed financial documents, invoices, and contracts
