Civil Engineer

• Support the delivery of innovative commercial and residential land development projects from inception to completion.
• Prepare design reports and analyses, perform code searches, create a complete set of contract documents, and provide construction services including site visits and reviewing shop drawings.
• Collaborate with clients, consultants, contractors, and dynamic team while advancing engineering career.

Project Engineer, Land Development – Civil Engineering

• Responsible for AutoCAD and Revit support for the preparation of project documents
• Responsible for the production of graphics through use of 3D renderings and computer illustrations
• Responsible for the creation of finish plans, specifications, and material selections
• Responsible for submittals during the construction administration phase
• Assist in the development and preparation of space planning concepts and creation of program documents

• Plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate phases of the project (Typical: Conceptual, Schematic, Design Development, Construction Document, and Construction services).
• Preparation of project schedules.
• Discusses their project health both administratively and technically with their operations leader.
• Alerts the Business Operations Manager to any changing project conditions that need to be elevated to office leadership.
• Maintains project planner for all phases of their projects and updates them each week to discuss during their weekly staffing meetings with studio leadership.
• Issues add services and gets them approved in a timely manner prior to starting work on additional scope for any of their projects.
• Utilize the company’s resource groups for design, preparation of design and construction documents. Provide construction services (Site visits, review shop drawings, etc.).
• Coordinates with the contracts team for the successful execution of the project contract.
• Represent WM at required jurisdiction public design review or development approval meetings and project presentations when required.
• Assembles the consultant team for the project (Identify scope of work, collect fees, select consultants, and facilitate contracts) as required.
• Assists the studio leader and is a resource and mentor to junior project members within the office.
• Assists in writing and reviewing proposals and the consultant team with the studio leader.

• Responsible for the management of project(s), start to finish, as the project leader.
• Be the key contact with the client, their consultants and representatives.

• Continuously monitor project progress, communicate timelines regularly, identify any risks to the design and schedule, and develop contingency plans to keep projects on track.

• Coordinate cross-functional architecture, interior architecture, and civil engineering team collaboration and identify critical path activities.
• Responsible for local, county, state, and federal code research and analysis for each project including City/Town Municipal/Zoning code and processing requirements related to signage.
• Must be capable of reading and understanding architectural drawings, shop drawings, as well as building and ADA code requirements.
• Collaborate with the design team to provide technical support and ensure design objectives align with project goals and client requirements.
• Conduct regular design reviews to confirm progress, quality, and code/regulation compliance.
• Coordinate various trades to achieve complete, coordinated drawings/work product and specifications.
• Direct and/or coordinate City Planning and/or other jurisdiction submittals.
