About the role

  • Lead and develop store teams by teaching, training, actively listening to associates, touring stores and providing feedback (Tour-to-Teach).
  • Communicate and collaborate with all levels of associates regarding store operations, technology, business initiatives, merchandising and company direction.
  • Introduce and lead company change efforts, provide clear expectations and guidance to implement business solutions and communicate business objectives to teams.
  • Model and demonstrate exceptional customer service standards using the One Best Way (OBW) service model; manage and support customer service initiatives and resolve customer needs, complaints and issues.
  • Drive financial performance and sales by reviewing P&L statements, assisting in budgeting, forecasting, controlling expenses, monitoring merchandise presentation, seasonal transitions, inventory flow and operational processes.
  • Develop and implement action plans to mitigate shrink, ensure sales and profit goals, and provide process improvement leadership.
  • Provide supervision and development opportunities for hourly associates by hiring, training, mentoring, assigning duties, setting expectations, providing recognition, and promoting a belonging mindset.
  • Coordinate, complete and oversee job-related activities by developing relationships with stakeholders, supporting plans and initiatives, identifying and communicating goals, building accountability and measuring progress.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, support company mission, values and standards of ethics and integrity, and implement related action plans.

Requirements

  • 2 years’ of college; OR 1 year’s retail experience and 1 year’s supervisory experience; OR 2 years’ general work experience and 1 year’s supervisory experience.
  • For facilities that sell firearms: successful completion of a firearms-specific Criminal Background Check (CBC) and Firearms Authorized Training may be required.
  • Associates will be required to attend and successfully complete all job-required trainings and assessments (for example, Academy trainings, Open Door trainings, etc.).
  • Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University.
  • Preferred: Certificate of Completion in People and Business Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University.
  • Preferred: General work experience supervising 5 or more direct reports including responsibility for performance management, mentoring, hiring, and firing.
  • Must adhere to Walmart's drug-free workplace policy and no tolerance policy regarding illegal drugs and alcohol on the job.
