• Engineer the Core: Develop and optimize our terminal software, evolving SDKs and cloud network protocols to ensure a seamless "tap-and-pay" experience.
• Champion Security: Navigate the complexities of payment card compliance (PCI), researching and implementing cryptographic solutions that keep data ironclad.
• Bridge the Gap: Partner with Product Engineering to turn ambitious user stories into technical reality, ensuring every feature is feasible and performant.
• Lead by Example: Act as a technical advisor for our SDKs and APIs, mentoring 3rd-level support and maintaining high standards through rigorous code reviews.
• Focus on Reliability: Take ownership of complex troubleshooting to ensure our global payment systems remain resilient and highly available.

Risk

• Define and maintain a practical, business-oriented Risk Management Framework that fits a fast-moving payment environment.
• Monitor and report on the company’s overall risk exposure, ensuring alignment with our strategic goals and regulatory expectations.
• Identify, assess, and manage key risks across acquiring, issuing, transaction processing, and merchant activities.
• Oversee operational, financial, and partner risks, including relationships with acquirers, processors, and scheme partners.
• Collaborate closely with Compliance to ensure regulatory alignment in both Luxembourg and Switzerland.
• Build clear and actionable risk reporting for management, Board, and regulators.
• Use data to identify emerging risks, trends, and potential weaknesses in our operations or partner ecosystem.
• Drive continuous improvement in how risk is managed — embedding it into daily decision-making and product development.
• Lead, coach, and develop a small but highly capable Risk team, promoting ownership and accountability.
• Support internal and external audits, ensuring that our controls and documentation stand up to scrutiny without unnecessary bureaucracy.

• Architect Scalability: Design and develop highly resilient back-end systems using Java, ensuring our infrastructure handles global scale with ease.
• Feature Innovation: Own the end-to-end lifecycle of new features, from initial implementation to refined bug fixing and performance tuning.
• Collaborative Engineering: Work closely with product managers, UX designers, and QA to translate complex business needs into elegant technical solutions.
• Code Excellence: Drive quality through automated testing, rigorous code reviews, and the creation of clear, maintainable technical documentation.

Java Software Engineer – Payment Integration

• Design and develop highly resilient back-end systems using Java, ensuring our infrastructure handles global scale with ease.
• Follow best practices such as SOLID principles, design patterns, and proper error handling.
• Write and maintain unit and integration tests for new and existing code, ideally following a Test-Driven Development (TDD) approach.
• Participate in peer code reviews to ensure code quality and consistency across the codebase.
• Perform root cause analysis and implement fixes when incidents occur.
• Maintain clear documentation for systems and features.
