About the role
- Promote and implement company safety objectives and a comprehensive safety culture
- Conduct job site inspections and identify conditions which create hazards for workers and the public
- Communicate safety performance to project leaders and provide recommendations for improvement
- Identify project trends and execute proactive safety initiatives to eliminate incidents
- Assist with incident investigations and act as a resource to project teams
- Coordinate and implement safety trainings and employee onboarding
- Mentor project staff and collaborate with leadership to ensure consistent implementation of safety programs across projects
- Participate in risk management activities, audits, safety trends reviews, lessons learned, and departmental strategy development
- Implement corporate and project level safety initiatives and continuous program improvement efforts
- Assure compliance with Company safety policies and OSHA safety standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Health and Safety, Safety Engineering, Environmental Health or equivalent professional experience demonstrating the required knowledge and skills.
- 3-5 years of construction safety experience, with strong knowledge of OSHA regulations
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with an adaptable and flexible style in working with all types of individuals
- Very strong work ethic with the willingness to travel to jobsites and conduct field-based work
- Capable to walk the job site, climb ladders, and multi floor scaffolding
- Ability to lift objects at least 50lbs
