About the role
- Assist senior engineers in understanding project requirements and client needs.
- Support the development of mechanical and plumbing system designs.
- Use BIM and AutoCAD to incorporate designs into project models and drawings.
- Help perform energy and load calculations under supervision.
- Select and schedule mechanical equipment with guidance.
- Participate in cost and value analysis discussions with the project team.
- Research and analyze design proposals and specifications for feasibility.
- Support estimating and bid package preparation.
- Review subcontractor proposals and construction documents for compliance.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
- Professional Engineering License is required.
- 4+ years of experience in mechanical design or engineering.
- Basic proficiency in 3D building modeling software (e.g., Revit) and experience with BIM workflows.
- Familiarity with mechanical systems and building codes (e.g., IBC, ASHRAE, NFPA).
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Self-motivated and eager to learn in a collaborative environment.
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
