About the role

  • Support the BUGM in managing the daily operations of the Plant & Equipment Depot(s)
  • Ensure operational excellence, safety and quality across all delivery commitments
  • Oversee and manage delivery, safety, quality and performance of the Specialist Plant, Equipment and Mobile teams
  • Ensure compliance and accurate recording of all maintenance for the Specialist Plant & Equipment teams
  • Be accountable for the safety performance, driving a positive safety culture
  • Support and guide teams to ensure timely and safe deliveries
  • Embed a flexible culture to embrace change and drive continuous improvement
  • Maximise internal stock utilisation and reduce external hire needs
  • Explore new technology and products for safety enhancements and zero emissions
  • Prepare proposals for asset management and capital expenditures
  • Maintain excellent levels of communication across the team and the wider business
  • Ensure adherence to SHEQ policies and procedures
  • Undertake any other duties to meet business demands

Requirements

  • 5yrs+ proven experience within the Transmission Over Head Line (TOHL) Industry
  • 5yrs+ operating at a Senior Manager / Department Manager level
  • Proven experience in a similar role within a TOHL Plant / Equipment environment
  • Strong organisational and time‑management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Hold a Full UK Driving Licence
  • Degree / Diploma Level, LEEA Qualification or similar (desirable)
  • NEBOSH Management for Construction Qualification (desirable)
  • Experience of managing a geographically dispersed team (desirable)
  • Willingness to travel and work away from home occasionally to suit business needs (desirable)
