About the role

  • Develop and implement energy strategies and operating models for powering large scale data centres (>100MW)
  • Provide leadership and oversight throughout different phases of energy projects
  • Lead and oversee the commercial development of energy projects
  • Champion the pursuit and implementation of innovative solutions
  • Lead, mentor, and build high-performing teams
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with government agencies, regulators, and local communities
  • Oversee budget preparation and management
  • Ensure all development activities comply with relevant EMEA laws, regulations, and industry standards
  • Provide regular updates to the Senior Vice President of Energy and the Board of Directors on project progress, risks, and strategic opportunities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Energy Management, Business, or a related field (postgraduate qualification preferred)
  • Minimum 12 years in energy project development, including at least 5 years in senior leadership
  • Proven track record managing large-scale projects to Final Investment Decision (FID)
  • Strong understanding of EMEA regulatory frameworks, planning processes, and industry standards
  • Significant experience in line management, including recruitment, team leadership, and performance management
  • Ability to lead in a matrix environment and collaborate across multiple regions
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex budgets, commercial agreements, and deliver results oriented project management
  • Experience working with diverse stakeholders—government, industry, and community groups—with outstanding interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • Ability to develop vision and strategy, drive change, and implement innovative solutions to complex challenges
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
