About the role

  • Responsible for technical architecture and development practices of Valmet Data Lake.
  • Oversee and guide the development in data lake domains together with the domain architects.
  • Take ownership of our data platform architecture and provide guidelines for all stakeholders including IT, business and project teams.
  • Oversee the administration and maintenance of our data platform infrastructure, including configuration, monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimization to ensure smooth operations.
  • Identify and implement improvements and optimization to enhance the efficiency and scalability of the data platform.
  • Implement and enforce data governance policies and procedures to ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of data platform configurations, processes, and best practices, and facilitate knowledge sharing with the broader team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in information technology, engineering, or relevant field.
  • Solid understanding of data platforms, data management, and data architecture principles (data lake, data warehouse, metadata, governance).
  • Proven experience in administering and managing Microsoft Fabric or similar data platforms.
  • Experience in Microsoft Azure services, including data platform related technologies.
  • Strong understanding of data governance, security, and compliance principles, with experience implementing them in a Microsoft environment.
  • Knowledge of data integration tools and techniques for ingesting and processing data from diverse sources.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage timelines effectively.
  • Strategic mindset with a proven track record of influencing and aligning stakeholders to achieve complex goals.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to facilitate effective collaboration with diverse teams.
