Person who, under the authority of the Director of Youth Protection and their deputies, carries out activities related to the selection, recruitment, evaluation, and professional follow-up of foster families.
Participates in developing a permanent and coherent recruitment plan for the establishment.
In collaboration with the caseworker assigned to the file, participates in developing intervention plans for foster families.
Makes the best possible matches between available resources and clients.
Provides professional follow-up by offering support to foster families and clients.
Will be required to travel to communities on the Ungava Coast.
Requirements
Must hold a bachelor’s degree or equivalent terminal university degree in the social sciences such as social work, criminology, psychology, or psychoeducation.
Have theoretical and practical knowledge of the Youth Protection Act and the concept of protection.
Must have a minimum of two years’ experience working with foster families.
Experience working with children.
Ability to communicate well in English and French, and ideally in Inuktitut.
Ability to adapt to a different environment and culture.
Strong analytical and synthesizing skills.
Ability to work in emergency, unstable, and high-pressure contexts.
Ability to work as part of a team.
Discreet, autonomous, empathetic, diplomatic, responsible, a good listener, showing initiative and sound judgment.
Respect for clients.
Respect for authority.
Must hold a valid driver’s license.
