About the role
- Manage a portfolio of approximately 125+ major gift donors
- Design and implement strategies to identify, cultivate and solicit high-net worth donors for major gifts ($25K+)
- Manage the Major Gifts Moves Management Process and Individual Giving Officers
- Prepare meeting materials, stewardship reports, proposals and investment decks
- Manage donor communications and interactions and provide stewardship
- Make direct, face-to-face solicitations (12 to 15 visits per month)
- Maintain current and accurate donor files and monitor fundraising pipeline
- Provide prospect coding and weekly prospect progress reporting
- Work closely with prospect researcher to grow donor pipeline and analyze prospect readiness
- Provide oversight on cross-team connections including direct mail to major donor prospects
- Utilize Raiser's Edge to track and manage donor/prospect portfolio and monitor officers' results
- Ensure compliance with UNCF policies, timely reporting, and year-end projection forecasts
- Supervise Major Gift Officers to manage solicitation process
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from four-year College or university
- At least 8 - 10 years of experience in fundraising
- 3 - 5 years of specific experience in cultivating major gifts
- Quantifiable experience conducting major fundraising activities at the half million dollar level and below
- Experience conducting capital and annual giving campaigns
- Excellent organizational, written and verbal communication skills
- Volunteer management skills
- Strong planning skills and ability to multi-task
- Outstanding human relations and managerial skills
- Demonstrative initiative and ability to work with minimal supervision
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Raiser's Edge
- Ability to make direct, face-to-face solicitations (local and national) and travel for 12 to 15 visits per month
