About the role
- Managing supplier relationships with transportation companies and freight forwarders
- Ensuring incoming and outgoing shipments are handled expediently and complied with procedures
- Responsible for multiple modes of transport (air, sea, road, railways)
- Assist Compliance Manager with import/export activities
- Ensure accuracy of duty/freight charges
- Monitor and follow applicable laws and regulations
- Supervise Optics/HPC logistics personnel
- Coordinate with production team for timely shipments
- Develop improvement plans for logistics department
Requirements
- Associates Degree (2 year) in related field(s)
- Minimum 5 years combined Purchasing, Logistics, and Import/Export Compliance experience
- Manufacturing environment experience
- Hazardous Materials Shipping Certification preferred
- U.S. Customs Broker License preferred
- Experience with SAP desirable
- Demonstrates good written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to solve practical problems
- Ability to motivate and organize colleagues
