About the role

  • Provide individualized mentorship to support the personal well-being, adjustment, and growth of each ShinShin throughout the program year
  • Guide ShinShinim in developing and delivering educational programming on Israeli culture, society, and Jewish peoplehood at partner institutions
  • Participate in regular ShinShinim team meetings to address group dynamics, mentoring needs, and program development
  • Support the planning and execution of community programs and events, ensuring alignment with UJA’s goals and timelines
  • Maintain and strengthen relationships with summer camps participating in the UJA ShinShinim Program
  • Manage program logistics, including transportation coordination, vulnerable sector checks, OHIP registration, stipends, winter clothing, and related operational needs

Requirements

  • Strong pedagogical insight and experience in working with Israeli Teens in experiential education context
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, relationship-building, and communication skills
  • Fluency in spoken and written English; high-level spoken Hebrew required
  • High level of availability and responsiveness
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and occasional overnight programs (e.g., retreats, Shabbatons)
  • Strong teamwork skills and the ability to collaborate across departments and partner organizations
  • Advanced computer proficiency
  • Deep knowledge of Israeli society and strong familiarity with the Toronto Jewish community
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle are an asset
  • Marketing experience is an asset
