About the role
- Provide individualized mentorship to support the personal well-being, adjustment, and growth of each ShinShin throughout the program year
- Guide ShinShinim in developing and delivering educational programming on Israeli culture, society, and Jewish peoplehood at partner institutions
- Participate in regular ShinShinim team meetings to address group dynamics, mentoring needs, and program development
- Support the planning and execution of community programs and events, ensuring alignment with UJA’s goals and timelines
- Maintain and strengthen relationships with summer camps participating in the UJA ShinShinim Program
- Manage program logistics, including transportation coordination, vulnerable sector checks, OHIP registration, stipends, winter clothing, and related operational needs
Requirements
- Strong pedagogical insight and experience in working with Israeli Teens in experiential education context
- Exceptional organizational and time-management skills
- Excellent interpersonal, relationship-building, and communication skills
- Fluency in spoken and written English; high-level spoken Hebrew required
- High level of availability and responsiveness
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and occasional overnight programs (e.g., retreats, Shabbatons)
- Strong teamwork skills and the ability to collaborate across departments and partner organizations
- Advanced computer proficiency
- Deep knowledge of Israeli society and strong familiarity with the Toronto Jewish community
- Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle are an asset
- Marketing experience is an asset
