About the role
- Prepare Udemy’s SEC filings and regulatory filings (8-Ks, 10-Qs, 10-Ks), proxy statements, and earnings materials
- Prepare financial statements and supporting schedules including cash flow statement, footnote disclosures, and MD&A, and oversee tie-out binder
- Prepare GAAP and SEC disclosure checklists and oversee XBRL tagging process for all SEC filings
- Coordinate and support external reviews and audits, prepare audit schedules, provide sample support, and respond to auditor inquiries
- Perform and monitor key internal controls over financial reporting to ensure public company compliance
- Prepare monthly and quarterly fluctuation review packages for internal reviews and external auditors
- Assist in and/or lead ad hoc projects; work cross-functionally with accounting, finance, investor relations, tax, legal, and external auditors
- Report to the Senior Manager of SEC Reporting and deliver timely internal and external reporting in accordance with US GAAP
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
- CPA certification preferred
- 3+ years of relevant work experience, including 2+ years of public accounting experience or financial reporting with a publicly traded company
- Knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC rules and regulations, including ability to research accounting codification, reference materials, and peer company filings
- Keen attention to detail and strong analytical skills
- Experience working with Workiva Wdesk, Equity Edge, and Netsuite preferred
- Highly motivated and proactive with strong project management, organizational, oral and written communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects, work independently with minimum supervision, and collaborate with others on cross-functional projects
- Proven track record of meeting deadlines and ownership of complex areas
