Serve as the face of U-Haul, assisting customers inside and outside the center with U-Haul products and services
Inspect and maintain equipment on the lot including checking fluid levels and cleaning
Use smartphone-based U-Scan technology to manage rentals, dispatch, and inventory
Move and hook up U-Haul trucks and trailers; install hitches and trailer wiring
Prepare rental invoices and accept equipment returned from rental
Fill propane and drive a forklift (certification offered through U-Haul upon employment)
Participate in ongoing continuous U-Haul education through U-Haul University and perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
Valid driver’s license and ability to maintain a good driving record
High school diploma or equivalent
Ability to perform physical tasks including long periods of standing, moving around indoors and outdoors, and moving equipment weighing a minimum of 50 lbs. assisted or unassisted
Ability to work around moving parts or machines, fumes or irritant chemicals and use protective clothing or gear as required
Customer service skills and ability to assist and educate customers regarding products and services
Ability to use smartphone-based U-Scan technology to manage rentals and inventory
Willingness to obtain certifications offered upon employment (propane filling certification, forklift certification)
Ability to move and hook up U-Haul trucks and trailers and install hitches and trailer wiring
