A Fixed Asset Accountant is responsible to account for the company's fixed assets, including tracking, accounting, and reporting on their value and depreciation.
This involves maintaining accurate records, performing reconciliations, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
They also collaborate with other departments to streamline asset management processes and support financial reporting.
This position oversees compliance with company policies and takes the lead on process and policy updates and improvements.
The list of duties for this position include: Managing fixed asset systems
Recording of asset activity
Posting of related journal entries
Preparing monthly, quarterly and annual reports
Ensuring compliance with company policies and GAAP
Working on special projects
Supporting internal and external audits
Performing other duties in support of the SSC GL team as directed by management
Supporting property tax filings
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in accounting
2+ years of related experience
Experience in accounting particularly in fixed assets is required
Proficiency in accounting systems and fixed asset software (Oracle and CS Suites)
