About the role
- A Fixed Asset Accountant is responsible to account for the company's fixed assets, including tracking, accounting, and reporting on their value and depreciation.
- This involves maintaining accurate records, performing reconciliations, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
- They also collaborate with other departments to streamline asset management processes and support financial reporting.
- This position oversees compliance with company policies and takes the lead on process and policy updates and improvements.

- Recording of asset activity
- Posting of related journal entries
- Preparing monthly, quarterly and annual reports
- Ensuring compliance with company policies and GAAP
- Working on special projects
- Supporting internal and external audits
- Performing other duties in support of the SSC GL team as directed by management
- Supporting property tax filings
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- 2+ years of related experience
- Experience in accounting particularly in fixed assets is required
- Proficiency in accounting systems and fixed asset software (Oracle and CS Suites)
- Critical thinking and analytical skills
- Ability to communicate accounting related topics
- Demonstrate strong organizational skills
