About the role
- 12 month Fixed Term Contract (ideal start December 2025)
- Own technical SEO/GEO globally to drive Trainline's organic performance
- Work alongside Growth, Tech and Product to implement scaled solutions
- Shape, execute and own global technical strategy to solve complex SEO and GEO problems
- Use large-scale data analysis to identify optimisation opportunities with commercial impact
- Implement complex indexation and crawlability solutions to improve Organic Search performance
- Stay abreast of industry changes and provide expert viewpoints to stakeholders
- Utilise AI and LLM knowledge to enhance processes and identify optimisation opportunities
- Troubleshoot website issues and proactively monitor/fix website bugs
Requirements
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Minimum of 3-4 years SEO experience working with enterprise size websites
- Experience working with developer, SEO and non-technical teams to deliver results
- Strong knowledge of SQL
- Very skilled Microsoft Office user, especially Excel
- Knowledge or experience of working with a CMS such as Wordpress, Joomla, Drupal or Umbraco
- Extensive experience with SEO tools (Google Search Console, Google Analytics, Screaming Frog, Botify, SEMRush, STAT, Ahrefs)
- Experience using GEO tools (Profound a bonus)
- Deep understanding of how search engines and web crawlers work
- Foundational understanding of LLMs and Agentic AI concepts
- Experience utilising AI to enhance processes and identify optimisation opportunities
- Thorough understanding of SEO and GEO techniques and analytics platforms
- Technical understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript and Python
- Strong understanding of JavaScript / Rendering SEO
- Proactive monitoring of website bugs and identifying fixes
- Positive attitude, collaborative, hands-on operator
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- Enthusiastic, energetic, creative with high attention to detail
