About the role
- Manage and grow an assigned territory of colleges and universities in Central Florida
- Develop professional relationships with professors and department leaders to demonstrate Top Hat’s platform and products
- Convert professor relationships into clients by showing product value for engagement and learning outcomes
- Find, create, facilitate, and close new business opportunities in assigned accounts
- Represent and sell the full suite of Top Hat and approved partner products and services, including digital textbook content and SaaS platform
- Position and message Top Hat’s value proposition using inside and outside sales techniques
- Work closely with Customer Success Managers and internal product and marketing partners to ensure customer experience and maximize revenue growth
- Travel to campuses to prospect professors; spend approximately 40-50% of time on campus annually and up to 75% during sales seasons
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree
- 2+ years of experience in a sales role
- Experience selling to professors in person on campus is highly preferred
- Ability to travel to campuses 40-50% annually (up to 75% during sales seasons)
- Valid Driver’s License required
- Sales skills including identifying, driving, and closing large/complex deals
- Ability to prospect effectively and run full sales cycle (cold calling, demos, discovery, solution presentation, negotiation and closing)
- Experience working in a metrics-driven environment
- Strong ability to interpret and apply feedback/coaching quickly
- Ambitious and achievement-oriented
