About the role

  • Build and execute Tomo’s AEO/GEO strategy to maximize brand visibility across LLM platforms (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, Gemini) and emerging AI search surfaces.
  • Lead ongoing research into AI model behavior, prompt patterns, and entity-based discovery mechanisms, and translate findings into competitive gap analyses, visibility frameworks, and mortgage-specific playbooks.
  • Identify structured data and schema markup opportunities. Translate that into action by crafting implementation briefs for the engineering team to execute, test, and validate.
  • Monitor and report on LLM citation performance, tracking Tomo’s share of voice across AI platforms and identifying opportunities to expand presence.
  • Stay two steps ahead of industry shifts in AI search and surface what matters before it’s obvious.
  • Own content strategy and execution: identify keyword and topic opportunities, write the content, and publish it.
  • Build Tomo’s topical authority in mortgage and homebuying through FAQ content, landing pages, competitor comparison pages, rate guides, and educational resources, written for both traditional search intent and LLM scannability.
  • Develop and maintain a content calendar aligned to mortgage demand seasonality, competitive gaps, and AEO visibility opportunities.
  • Conduct regular technical SEO audits (crawlability, indexation, Core Web Vitals, internal linking architecture) and translate findings into clear briefs for the engineering team.
  • Stay current on AI crawler behavior, entity SEO, and how AI systems index and interpret content at a technical level.
  • Own Tomo’s external visibility strategy: identify high-authority placement opportunities across media outlets, blogs, industry publications, and community platforms.
  • Build and manage relationships with journalists, editors, and digital influencers in personal finance, real estate, and homebuying.
  • Craft personalized pitches and lead outreach campaigns that secure placements and backlinks that directly move SEO and LLM citation performance.
  • Develop a community presence strategy across platforms like Reddit and G2 to build brand authority and drive organic LLM mentions.
  • Track and analyze outreach effectiveness, continuously refining targeting, messaging, and follow-up to improve placement rates.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of hands-on SEO experience, with demonstrated recent focus on AEO, GEO, or LLM search optimization.
  • You write well—clearly, precisely, and in a voice that works for both human readers and AI systems. Writing samples required.
  • Technical SEO fluency: structured data, crawl optimization, Core Web Vitals, entity SEO. You identify issues and brief solutions; implementation is handled by engineering.
  • Proven digital PR and outreach track record: securing meaningful placements and building lasting media relationships.
  • Analytical and data-driven: comfortable in Google Search Console, GA4/Amplitude, Semrush/Ahrefs, and LLM visibility tools.
  • Strong communicator who can translate technical SEO and AEO concepts clearly for non-technical stakeholders.
Benefits
  • Equity Ownership: All teammates receive stock options—we win together
  • Comprehensive Medical, Dental, and Vision plans for you and your dependents with some plans 100% covered
  • Work-life balance and a generous paid time off policy
