About the role
- Provide expert installation, maintenance, and repair services for sophisticated analytical and microscopy equipment
- Deliver outstanding technical support while building strong relationships with customers across research institutions, universities, and industrial facilities
- Resolve complex issues, conduct preventive maintenance, and train users to ensure optimal system performance
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, or related technical field and 5+ years of hands-on technical experience installing, troubleshooting and repairing complex analytical instruments or Advanced degree and 3+ years of experience
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving abilities for hardware and software issues
- Demonstrated expertise with ultra-high vacuum systems, high voltage electronics, and complex electro-mechanical systems
- Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, schematics, and engineering drawings
- Experience documenting service activities and preparing detailed reports
- Effectively train and support customers with equipment operation
- Adherence to safety protocols and quality standards
- Experience mentoring and training others preferred
- Demonstrated success in meeting customer satisfaction goals
- Excellent customer service and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong organizational and time management capabilities
- Strong problem-solving abilities and capacity to work independently
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and service management software
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in various laboratory environments
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future
- Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check and drug screen.
