About the role

  • Assist with on-site installation, repair, testing, and maintenance of electron microscopy systems , including: Scanning Electron Microscopes (SEM) Transmission Electron Microscopes (TEM) Focused Ion Beam (FIB) systems
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance to ensure systems operate according to specifications
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose system issues with guidance from senior engineers when required
  • Support senior field service engineers with complex repairs and system calibrations
  • Develop positive working relationships with customers, system users, and internal teams
  • Travel to customer sites, sometimes on short notice, to provide technical support and service
  • Document service activities and submit detailed field service reports
  • Provide basic customer training on system operation and routine maintenance
  • Follow safety procedures and quality standards when servicing equipment in laboratory environments
  • Provide feedback to product quality and engineering teams regarding system performance
  • Maintain accurate service documentation and support updates to technical service materials

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, or related technical field or 4+ years of equivalent education and experience in electronic systems
  • 1+ years of hands-on technical experience installing, troubleshooting, repairing, or calibrating sophisticated analytical equipment such as SEM, TEM, FIB, or similar systems
  • Experience working with ultra-high vacuum (UHV) systems and high voltage equipment preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Ability to travel up to 75% within assigned territory
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in laboratory environments
  • Proficiency in English required, additional languages beneficial
