About the role
- Design and produce high-quality competitive graphics that align with the news team and marketing objectives
- Collaborate closely with graphics, marketing, and production teams to ensure cohesive design execution
- Oversee all aspects of the design production process to maintain high standards
- Provide visual leadership to the team while adapting to changes and tight deadlines
- Manage quick turnaround of graphics assets, sometimes with rapid changes
- Synthesize creative asks and requirements and make decisions about production capabilities and challenges
- Create graphics as well as manage art directors/artists and projects with competence and skill
- Report to the Executive Creative Director, Motion Graphics and Design for ABC News
Requirements
- At least seven (7) years as a designer overseeing motion graphics production in a multi-media environment
- 10+ years total experience in Graphic Design in streaming or Broadcast industries (preferred)
- Hands-on proficiency with the Adobe Creative Suite
- Proficiency with either C4D or Maya
- Strong information graphics design with editorial background/experience
- Superior typography and design sensibilities
- Knowledge of graphics software such as XPression and VizRt; live graphics production experience is a bonus
- Familiar with graphics workflows for Vizrt, Xpression, Adobe Suite
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills
- Excellent people skills; must be able to partner with creative staff and production
- Detail-oriented with proficiency at managing multiple projects with competing deadlines
- Ability to think & communicate clearly and effectively from concept through completion
- Highly creative, innovative, extremely motivated, organized and able to handle creative pressures under tight deadlines
- Preferred Education: Masters or College Design Degree
