💰 $139,200 - $170,000 per year

About the role

  • This role reports to two Senior Managers – Sr. Manager, Employee Relations and Sr. Manager, Labor Relations
  • Manage complex employee relations matters, primarily preparing and responding to inquiries from federal, state and local agencies
  • Partner closely with HR, Legal, Labor Relations, Employee Relations and business leaders
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws and collective bargaining agreements
  • Advocate the Company’s position and maintain positive employee/labor relations
  • Research/investigate, prepare, and draft responses to inquiries from EEOC and other regulatory agencies
  • Gather and analyze relevant documentation to support Company’s position in agency responses
  • Interpret and apply collective bargaining agreements to resolve issues and maintain compliance
  • Collaborate with HR partners and business leaders
  • Provide guidance and training to HR and leadership on employee relations and labor relations best practices
  • Monitor trends and recommend proactive strategies to mitigate risk

Requirements

  • 2-4 years of relevant experience in Employee Relations, Labor Relations, Human Resources, or equivalent
  • Strong understanding and working knowledge of all aspects of local, state and federal labor and employment laws
  • Highly skilled in legal research, with an emphasis on current precedent
  • Possesses strong writing skills to draft persuasive responses on behalf of the Company
  • Ability to demonstrate tact, diplomacy, and nuanced understanding of communication needs
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive matters.
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Employee Relations, Industrial Labor Relations, Labor/Employment Law or equivalent
  • JD or equivalent training and accreditation preferred
  • Experience in a unionized environment is preferred
  • Prior experience partnering with Employment Legal on agency responses is preferred
  • Bilingual is preferred.
