About the role

  • Provides strategic and operational leadership across the full commercial mortgage lifecycle
  • Owns monthly close, consolidated financial reporting, and portfolio analytics for internal leaders and external stakeholders
  • Establishes and maintains a strong control environment that supports clean audits, accurate reporting, and reliable, decision-ready information
  • Partners closely with Origination, Servicing, Treasury, Legal, Technology, and other key teams
  • Aligns accounting and servicing objectives with business strategy while driving continuous improvement in data quality, risk management, and stakeholder experience
  • Oversees loan servicing operations such as payment processing, escrow and tax administration, portfolio surveillance, and servicing data governance
  • Leads teams focused on efficiency, accountability, and continuous improvement

Requirements

  • 10+ years of progressively responsible experience in commercial real estate lending, underwriting, accounting, and/or loan servicing
  • Experience supporting commercial mortgage portfolios, preferably within a life insurance company environment
  • Demonstrated leadership experience overseeing accounting, reporting, and/or servicing teams
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, statutory reporting, and CECL
  • Experience managing monthly close, journals, reconciliations, and analyses
  • Working knowledge of commercial real estate markets and loan servicing practices
  • Ability to translate complex data into actionable insights
  • CPA preferred
  • Occasional travel may be required
