About the role

  • Lead all day-to-day brokerage operations—freight planning, dispatch, tracking, customer operations, and exception management. Build scalable processes and KPIs to ensure high-margin execution and low error rates. Translate long-term business goals into operational roadmaps and org design.\n
  • Growth & Sales Leadership: Own top-line revenue growth and margin improvement across the freight brokerage. Lead and scale the customer sales team , working closely with enterprise accounts and shippers to drive volume and retention. Develop and execute smart pricing strategies , customer segmentation, and market positioning to accelerate deal velocity and profitability. Partner with executive leadership and RevOps to align GTM execution, pipeline development, and performance forecasting. Be accountable for hitting growth milestones and helping move the brokerage into the top-tier of industry performance.\n
  • Carrier & Network Strategy: Oversee carrier procurement, rate negotiation, and onboarding. Ensure carrier network performance supports customer expectations and cost objectives. Drive digital adoption of Zuum’s platform by both internal teams and external users.\n
  • Team Development: Build and coach a high-performance ops team with deep freight knowledge. Champion a culture of accountability, customer-centricity, and continuous improvement.\n
  • P&L Ownership: Own brokerage P&L, including revenue growth, sales performance, cost optimization, and margin health . Align financial outcomes with strategic execution across sales and operations.\n
  • Technology & Process Optimization: Partner with the Product and Engineering teams to enhance and evolve Zuum’s tech stack. Lead implementation and optimization of TMS (Transportation Management System) functionality across all relevant operations. Identify opportunities to automate processes, eliminate waste, and scale efficiently.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of freight brokerage operations experience— apologies but this is not optional.\n
  • A proven track record of scaling a brokerage operation's revenue by 2X.\n
  • Deep familiarity with TMS platforms and how to operationalize them for speed, accuracy, and visibility.\n
  • Fluency with logistics technology platforms (load boards, EDI/API integrations, rate tools, etc.).\n
  • Leadership experience with both remote and on-site operations teams.
