About the role

  • This role is responsible for overseeing core accounting operations (Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Payroll, and cash management), ensuring accuracy, timeliness, internal controls, and compliance, while partnering closely with the Controller, CFO and operations leaders.
  • Lead Accounts Receivable function, including but not limited to invoicing wholesale and corporate accounts, monitoring of cash collection and accounts receivable balances, processing credit card and ACH payments from customers, and managing team members involved in the process
  • Lead Accounts Payable function, including processing invoices from vendors, actively managing AP aging, maintaining vendor relationships, and making payments to vendors in a timely manner
  • Work closely with CFO on cash flow management and forecasting, particularly as it related to cash inflows from customers and outflows to vendors
  • Manage payroll cycle, including processing payroll for HQ staff and retail stores
  • Act as a key liaison with payroll and HR provider, handling matters as they arise to ensure compliance for the company
  • Work alongside the Wholesale Operations Manager and operation team to ensure alignment of inventory fulfillment and AR processing
  • Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate completion
  • Prepare and review supporting schedules for financial statements related to AR, AP, payroll, and cash
  • Assist Controller and CFO with audit, tax, and external advisor requests, including documentation and reconciliations
  • Assist in managing the company’s inventory management software, which is utilized in the above wholesale and receivable processes
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, automation and system usage to increase efficiency and accuracy

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in accounting, specifically working with and managing accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets, and an ability to learn new systems
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a passion for data-driven decision-making- doesn’t accept the first answer as the best answer
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships across teams and different roles
  • Entrepreneurial, flexibility, and a positive “can-do” mentality
  • Previous experience working with Sage Intacct, or an ability to learn new accounting systems
